Temecula has no shortage of wine, but a genuinely good open mic is harder to find. The Tuesday night open mic at Miramonte Winery, hosted and produced by singer and guitarist Bella Popa, has become exactly that: a free, weekly stage where first-timers and seasoned professionals share the same microphone, in front of a crowd that came to listen.
When And Where
The open mic runs every Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM at Miramonte Winery, 33410 Rancho California Road, Temecula, California 92591 — right in the heart of Temecula Valley wine country. It is free to attend and free to perform. All ages are welcome.
How Sign-ups Work
There is no online list. Sign-ups happen at the door, first come, first on the list, so arriving earlier means an earlier slot. Add your name when you arrive — ideally between 5:30 and 6 PM, as it is a popular night — let Bella know what you need, and she will call you up when it is your turn.
What Is Already Set Up
One of the reasons performers keep coming back is that the hard part is handled. A full backline is ready to play: bass, guitar, drums and keyboard. That means you can walk in with nothing but your voice and still play a real set — or bring your own instrument if you prefer.
Who It Is For
Everyone. Whether it is your first song in public or your five-hundredth, the room is built to be on your side. Bella keeps the night moving, introduces each performer and makes sure newer players feel as welcome as the regulars. Listeners are just as welcome as players — there is no cover and no pressure to perform. As one regular put it, the night “draws talented professionals and newer singers alike.”
Featured Artists, Raffles And Live Music
Alongside the open slots, Tuesdays often feature spotlight performers and raffles, all announced on the open mic's own Instagram, @openmicbybellapopa. And with Miramonte Winery's award-winning wine on hand, plenty of people come simply to settle in for the evening and enjoy the music.
Your First Time, Step By Step
Arrive between 5:30 and 6 PM and add your name at the door. Tell Bella what you need — a guitar, a keyboard, a microphone or nothing at all. Play a short set when your name is called. Then stay for the rest of the night; the room is at its best once everyone has played.
