The Winery's Story

From a Local Barn to a Valley Landmark

Miramonte began in 2001, when Cane Vanderhoof bought Temecula's Piconi Winery, renamed it and replanted the estate vineyard to Syrah. Music came early: in 2002 the winery started weekly entertainment with Southern California musicians and stayed open after 5 PM, when most of the valley closed.

Today the estate covers roughly 13 acres of vineyard, with a tasting room, a bistro on the upper veranda and views across the valley. According to the winery, Fodor's Travel has called it “Temecula's hippest winery.”
